    GBA TV tuner?
    By stoo August 16, 2001, 07:30 PM

When I was a lad, I bought a Game Gear but didn't get a TV tuner. Now, they're incredibly rare (or expensive ).

Is a TV tuner for the GameBoy Advance possible? Are there any available I haven't noticed?

    By Hateslife August 16, 2001, 07:57 PM

I doubt it's possible; I'm sure it doesn't exist right now.

It's probably possible, heck if they can supposedly get an internet connection on it

Theoretically, it would be easy... the problems are antenna for it (not too big of a problem) and other than that it is probably pretty easy... all that would be nessisary would be to program in the 'change channel' controls and program how to show the TV program...

WOW I didn't know that they had a TV tuner for the Game Gear. I doubt you will ever see one for the GBA, those type of items are never made anymore, coz they are kinda worthless.

Did a little search on ebay and found a few for the game gear TV tuner.

Damn, it's huge, and probably expensive. It has to be a really clever hack paired with complex hardware, since the GBA isn't all that fast. Somehow I think FMV is beyond its normal capabilities.

The TV tuner for the Game Gear was just a cartridge with a little tuner dial and antenna.

EDIT: As for game gear TV tuners, they're 60$-70$ at Funcoland, even though Game Gears are only like 15-20$ there ;)
