  • The flagship of PowerColor's motherboard line is their new PVK7, a KX133 based motherboard. As Athlon motherboards go, the board is pretty standard. It has the usual five PCI slots, one AGP slot, three memory slots and an AMR slot.

PowerColor also adds a smart card reader port to the board, making it more useful for certain users. Security conscious users can use smart cards to block access for anyone without the properly encoded smart card. This is especially useful when a computer is located in a public space.

Coming soon, PowerColor will release their P815A, an i815-based motherboard using an FCPGA connector. i815 is the successor to the i810 chipset, which fixes the main i810 weakness by adding an AGP slot. The P815A will also come with a smart card reader port.

PowerColor sells most of their motherboards to European system integrators. Their low-cost boards, ISO-9001 certification, and smart card reader port provide an interesting mix of options, giving them a place in the market.
