The Diamond Micronics C400 mainboard is a welcome sight in an industry plagued by poor reference manuals and unclear instructions. It includes all the ingredients for a novice to be able to slap it into their machine quickly, and provides a painless way for users to welcome the new year with some 440BX lovin. The board performed well in our testing (all 440BX boards seem to perform within 1% of each other, hence the lack of benchmarks in this review) and the stability was absolutely rock solid.

Although the C400 breaks no new ground from a technology standpoint, it definitely redefines the genre when relating to the support guides

  1. Rock stable under all conditions
  2. "Easy as pie" setup routine
  3. Clear and illustrated instructional materials
  1. No control of CPU bus speed possible

If you have any questions for us, please post them to the Sharky Extreme Discussion Board.
