We have already seen that Quake III: Arena exposes some of the largest performance increases on account of the move to DDR memory and a faster system bus. Data flows faster at low resolutions, where the processor limits performance, then slows down at higher resolutions due to fillrate limitations of the graphics card.
All the way up to 1024x768, the AMD-760 platform delivers a solid 10% performance increase. It's pretty obvious, judging from the scores we reported in yesterday's article, that the chipset prefers the 1.2GHz screamer, but you cannot complain about these scores coming from a CPU that costs less than taking a family of four out to dinner.
