  • After three really, really good years sharing the majority of the days, nights and weekends with you guys/girls the time has come for me to move over and swim off into the sunset.

But before you hear the last of me on sharkyextreme.com, I just wanted to thank each and every one of you folks that have come and helped me direct this site from its inception. It's been one hell of an amazing ride. From rags to riches, from Celeron 300A to Athlon 1.33GHz & Pentium 4, from Voodoo2 to GeForce3, you were such a big part/reason for sharkyextreme coming into existence and getting off the ground. Your comments, feedback, stories and communication was the most fun part of every day. Thank you and I'll miss you...

Before I sign off, I want to let you know that the parting of ways here is very amicable and just a fact of the current climate not facilitating the necessary economics for running SE the way it has been operating for three years. I have been told that the site will go on, likely with changes brought on by the economic necessity but hopefully in the same spirit. The very best of luck to the next guy, play nice and treat him as well as you did me.

Many, many thanks to the members of www.sharkyforums.com. Your participation and feedback was amazing, given the short space of time that the site has been around. Cheers to Housen and the Moderators.

Thanks to internet.com, you offered us a great deal and stood by your word through times good and bad, a rarity on the net these days. Cheers Alan, Chris E, B & C and, of course, Gus.

A giant thanks to Anders, Ben, Chris, Joan, Moira, Jon, Larry, Debbie, Amano, Pete, Vince, Vangie, Kert, Steve, Andrew, Craig, Amer and all the freelancers that contributed over the years. A heartfelt thanks to Omen, especially Howard, Dale & Kevin, keeping us on the air for the past year was always a challenge and working with you guys always a laugh. It's been a pleasure flying with you all. Cheers to you. And thanks to Mango Grits for our shark.

Thanks also to some very cool web site peers. Cheers Stephen "Blue" Heaslip, at Blues News that was quite the "intro" you gave us and what would I do without those daily "tech bites" and "Out of the Blues"? Cheers Anand from AnandTech, your support through thick and thin has been very much appreciated, you've always done well and I know you'll take it even further. Thanks Kyle at HardOCP, for making overclocking mainstream and for never being afraid to speak the truth - keep at it. Thanks Sean (Redwood) and good luck on Stomped, I hope it gets easier and see you at a rave hopefully. Same for you too Steve of Shugashack, hang in there.

Thanks Tom from Tom's Hardware Guide, I hope you won't stress out so much anymore and be nice to Anand will ya? Cheers to Dave and Marco of HotHardware.com (that was some night!). Cheers many, many times to the folks at the The Register, Slashdot, FiringSquad, and every other web site that ever deemed any of our stories newsworthy...and yes even AMDZone (see you guys got your link in the end).

    Good luck...

Thanks to all of those technology and game companies that played ball with us and continued to work with us, despite sometimes getting some scathing reviews. Just because I am leaving, it doesn't mean it's safe to go back in the water though...

I'm going to take a holiday (and an overdue honeymoon) but can be reached on AlexRoss@icnt.net

    Ciao,
    Alex "Sharky" Ross

PS: Cheers Mum, Tolya, Elena, Sabena & Flipper!
PPS: Don't eat Shark Fin soup!!!
