The art of overclocking a Celeron CPU has become so mainstream in recent months that several vendors are selling CPU/cooler combinations that are "guaranteed" to achieve certain levels of speed above the CPU's default level.
One of these companies that Sharky Extreme has had good experiences with over the past year is the internet-based Net-N-Dude Inc..
Net-N-Dude specializes in developing cooling solutions for most types of CPUs, including Intel P2, P3, and Celeron CPUs. They also provide cooling solutions for AMD's K6-2 and K6-3 CPUs.
Lately Net-N-Dude has begun selling Celeron CPUs with fan/heatsinks that they've pre-tested together and are guaranteeing can maintain an overclocked speed of 550MHz (versus a stock speed of 366MHz).
We decided to test the kit in our lab, and report on both the experience and the benchmarks that the unit generated.
We outfitted our Supercool kit option-wise with an MSI Slot-1 to Socket370 converter card as well as the pre-tested Celeron 366 CPU and Supercool 4500 fan/heatsink.
