  • Well known for their impressive mainboard and peripheral designs, Gigabyte has become a large force in the mainboard industry during the 90's.

Recently Gigabyte's unique Dual-BIOS design, in which they mount a secondary BIOS chip on each of their mainboards in the role of a backup system should the primary BIOS fail, won accolades and the praise of a virus-sensitive buying public.

For their first i820 mainboard, Gigabyte focused on their innovative design strengths and eliminated a few weaknesses that the reference i820 mainboard design from Intel harbors.

Here's a look at the details of the GA-6CX mainboard from its official spec sheet:

    Processor
    Intel Pentium II/III Slot-1 Processor
    Auto Detect CPU Voltage
Clock Multiplier support from 2.0 to 8.0x
    Front Side Bus supported speeds: 100, 105, 110, 115, 117, 120, 125, 127, 133, 137, 140, 145, 150MHz
