ASUSTek Computer Inc. is renowned for the high quality and breadth of features of its products in the video card and motherboard markets. We loved their various GeForce 256 based video cards. We even gave the V6800 Deluxe a 9.5, a rare score at Sharky Extreme. Today, we're going to take a look at their newest video card, the ASUS AGP-V7700, an NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS-based video card.

The AGP-V7700 is based largely upon the NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS reference design. There are slight differences between the two boards -- a small connector here, and an extra bit there. But overall, the AGP-V7700 and the reference design are pretty much the same. There is one place that doesn't have to do with circuit design where the two boards do part their ways. The ASUS card uses a funky circular fan with side exhaust ports. Well, it looks cool, so we're not complaining (and it isn’t noisy either).
