When you take your first look at the simple retail package of the Nightingale Pro 6 and the attached price tag of only $40.00, you have to wonder just how well this card performs and what kind of features it does have.
The fact of the matter is this card offers some very high-end features. Much to my surprise when I opened the box, I pulled out a very nice black card, complete with gold plated connectors. Based on the C-Media 8738 chipset, the Nightingale Pro 6 will support two, four and 5.1 speakers, along with DLS based wave table music synthesizer. Zoltrix's Nightingale Pro 6 also comes with a full Optical Kit for digital recording and playback - something you won't find bundled with even the more expensive cards.
The Nightingale Pro 6 is a pretty standard sound card. You have the normal Line-in, mic, speaker/line out, rear-out, center/bass out, and your game/midi port. The card itself looks super nice as it is black, and as I mentioned earlier the connectors are gold plated. You also get the Optical Module with Coaxial SPDIF In, Coaxial SPDIF Out (both gold plated), and Optical SPDIF In, Out, along with the Optical TosLink MD cable. The retail box comes complete with the Nightingale Pro 6 Installation manual and a small manual for the Optical Kit, and the driver CD.
Up to 24-bit stereo 44KHz sampling rate voice playback/recording, Full duplex playback and recording, 120dB audio quality measured, Auto detectable SPDIF/IN signal level from 0.5V to 5V.
